The Original Empowered Angry White Women
Both Lea Thomas and Kate Capshaw's characters were overly angry in this film. Right from the get go they were mean, nasty and discouraging to just about everyone that they encountered. These are not the kind of traits that anyone looks for in a teacher/mentor. If anyone who has children is considering sending them to Space Camp, you'd be wiser to send them to ROTC camp instead.
