man i remember this

not the movie, but the commercials for a real space camp that they use to play on nickelodeon. that looked cool and i always wanted to go. they had that thing that turned you upside down. i bet it actually sucked, and they taught you how to use compasses and what not. or it was awesome, and i totally didn't beg my parents enough.

I went to two. I'm not sure how I ended up there; I don't remember ever aksing my parents to go. But it was fun. And actually not too lame, as you might think. However, there is no anti-gravity room, like some friends used to ask me.

I remember when I first saw this at the local cinema that summer. Even though 1986 was not much of a year for me, this was one of that summer's best films. I had a huge crush on Kelly Preston after I saw this.

I also wrote a fanfic sequel to the movie that summer, just for the fun of it. Ironically, I wrote it while I was at summer camp in Pennsylvania.

Another ironic thing was that I knew someone who was an extra in the film. He said that he enjoyed meeting the actors and actresses in person.
