i too went to Spacecamp in the Summer of 1990.Loved it.it was so awsome.i am 35 now.
shareI so wanted to go to Spacecamp when I was a kid. But I live in the UK and there was no way I could ever afford it.
Wild! I was absolutely Livid!
I was in Young Astronauts for years. I remember watching the Challanger Launch the year I was set to go to space camp. It scared me to death. I remember going home crying and my parents pulled me out of camp. Five years later I finally went and it was the best time of my life. My children are in Young Astronaunts now.

I found my copy at FYE in on of the malls in Huntsville. And you are right. Space Camp is awesome.
shareI went to Space Camp when I was 16 and I returned when I was 17. I am now 26 years old and I returned for a 25th anniversary alumni weekend in June and it was still as awesome as I remembered it. I wish the camp would have been longer than 4 days though. I'm going to try and save up money so that I can go back for the adult 6 or 8 day camp next year.
shareI always wanted ot go to Space Camp when I was a kid. I loved this movie then. After I graduated college, I got my wish, I was a counselor there for 2 years. The most fun years ever! I was probably a counselor there when you went('97-'98 for me).
sharei wanted to go so bad but i am pretty sure it was way out of my parents budget. did you guys pay or was there some kind of scholarship or people just were picked? i loved young astronauts, i wrote nasa during the 80's and got boxes full of high res photos, posters, etc, literaly like $1000 worth of prints, postage, etc. i guess during the cold war they spent more money :)
shareI know there are a few scholarships given out for camp, you would have to look at the space camp website or online somewhere.
The first time I went, when I was 16, it was a gift from my aunt and her friend. I saved up my money from my part time job to return when I was 17. When I returned at the age of 26, I also paid for myself. My parents could never afford to send me, but my mother did provide me with a ride down to Alabama my first two times (mostly because her sister lived about four hours away and she could stay there for the week), so I didn't have to spend money on transportation.
Yes, I was in ASA during July 1997 and July 1998.

check out youtube
shareI remember seeing ads for Spacecamp in Boy's Life and wanting to go sooooo bad. I even sent away for the literature. Unfortunately, we just couldn't afford it.
The fact that I never went remains a bit of an unfulfilled wish with me. I wonder if they have Spacecamp for adults? Heck, given the current state of the space program, I wonder if they even have a Spacecamp at all any more.

It's funny, I actually looked this up a few days ago just for the heck of it and was like "Whoa!". My Brother and his family were in town today and they talked about taking a large family vacation together next year and I subtly mentioned Space Camp, lol.
Thanks for sharing BTW!
