Two things that confused me *spoilers*

Norman tells the reporter that he knows that he is a killer, and that he understands why Marion's sister was so angry at him.
So, does he really know that his mother is dead or not?

Or is he 'pretending' with the reporter, and taking blame for "Mother"?

And when the reporter tells Norman that Mrs. Spool killed her father...was that true? I thought he died from being stung to death by bees. How would she manage that?

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

This is evidence of this film's failure to illustrate Norman's thought process. When he asks Mother how she came back, she answers that she never went away. So he believes she's still alive. And yet, Norman acknowledges the cold hard fact that he was locked up in a mental hospital for 22 years for killing his mother and all the others.

First of all, Psycho II, III, and IV added on / skewed too much of the plot to the original Psycho - so much that I have little to no respect for the sequels.

But, anyway, only Psycho IV established that it was bee stings that killed Norman's father. So, either the reporter was wrong, or Psycho IV failed / neglected to reveal how Mrs. Spool deliberately killed Norman's father via bee stings. Even more to the point, why wasn't Mrs. Spool / Norma's sister never seen or even mentioned in Psycho IV?

When the plots of sequels get too inconsistent like this, it only diminishes their credibility.

Any failure to ignore the trolls will only grant them the satisfaction they seek!
