I wish I could unsee this.
What a load of trash. Man II was mildly entertaining but this was just awful. Shouldn't have finished it.

shareHorses for courses; but I find II exceptionally entertaining, and while I find III didn't quite live up to it, it was still a worthy, well shot and bizarre entry into the Psycho oeuvre. May I ask, what you didn't like about it?
Don't eat the whole ones! Those are for the guests. 🍪
I agree, this was just slasher trash that should have never been made!
shareIt was the first film in the series I viewed; I liked it as a kid, and appreciate it more as an adult. I think Anthony Perkins did a lot of interesting things, experimented with a few different methods to play out certain scenes, and captured the appropriate tone for both the film and the character of Norman Bates. I think the film carries the right amount of tension while adding some slasher elements (the Patsy character killed on the crapper john, Red getting hacked up in the phone booth) along with a great degree of sadness and longing between both Norman and Maureen's desire to feel wanted and normal. Jeff Fahey applies the right amount of sleaze as Duane Duke (I guess his character was once slated to be the actual killer, and I can see remnants of that from Duane).
