What a character! Dunno who won “Best Supporting Actor” that year but I highly doubt they were as memorable as Berenger was as Sgt. Barnes.

Dafoe is as great as Berenger, in my book. They improve each other's performance with their contrast.
I thought the entire cast did a pretty great job, I liked John C McGinley’s performance as well and the guy who played Junior.
Berenger was an absolute madman as Barnes, every single scene he’s in seems to elevate the film.
