Blonde hair over 6ft?...

How did Graham know that, did I miss something? Or it's his mental placement skills?

reply

Hair was found once (or more?) at a scene and matched to the Lecktor cell note. Mentioned during the forensics section in the middle.

I THINK remember a discussion of the suspect needing to be so tall to reach a branch when Will was climbing the tree, but it may have been in the book. If not mentioned, I'd still think something not necessarily mind reading, but inferring from his on-site stuff the same anyway.

There was hair on the note?

reply

Yup. But I did mis-recall some stuff:

BEVERLY KATZ
One hair, Graham. Maybe a thirty-
second of an inch. A couple of
blue grains. I'll work it up.
What else have you got?

Didn't match Lecktor's provided brush or razor, negative samples provided by the staff,

GRAHAM
Hair from Lecktor's comb. Whiskers
from an electric razor they let
him use. This is hair from the
cleaning man.

At the conference just before they talk about the Tattler ad:

BEVERLY KATZ
One whisker. Scale counts and core
size match Hannibal Lecktor's. So
does color. The color's different
than the Tooth Fairy's taken in
Birmingham and Atlanta. Three blue
grains and some dark flecks went to
Brian's end.

Pre-DNA, so just matched by morphology.

So, the note hair didn't match but they do have what they know are Tooth Fairy hairs from a crime scene. No idea how they are 100% sure it's his, but they do.
