Steve Martin/Bill Murray
Amazing that this is the only movie they have ever done together and its just that one little scene. I would have loved to have seen them do an entire movie together back in their prime.

shareThey worked together on SNL. Martin would host and Murray was a regular. There was a bit where Martin plays a magician and Murray is a willing audience participant.
shareAs I said...this was the only movie they have done together and its a surprising shame.
shareMurray and Martin co-starred in what might have been the best Saturday Night Live skit ever written, "The Hominids."
Here's a link to the script: http://bit.ly/G0x6J. Too bad I couldn't find a YouTube video of it. It's not only hilarious, it's kind of profound.
The original poster is saying that this is the only MOVIE that they starred in together... Not sure, why no one is getting that... lol
Anyhoo, I suspect back then they were both too expensive to get in one movie... However, they got Chevy, Martin and Steve together in "The Three Amigos..."

That's what makes this short sequence in the film such a magical moment, the only cinematic team-up of arguably the two most talented comedy stars of the 1980s, it's almost like a classic two-hander SNL sketch inserted into the middle of the film.

Agreed, just watched this film again for the first time in a long time, and I just lit up when I saw Bill Murray in the dentists waiting room. I gotta watch more SNL just to see those two together more
Everyone's thinkin' it, Im just sayin' it... Pirates!
I wish I could get SNL in England!!
I'm here, I'm there, I'm, *beep* everywhere. I'm the egg man
So weird--I would have thought they'd be in more movies together.

Murray filmed a cameo for the Martin movie The Jerk, but it was cut for reasons unexplained and the footage has yet to surface.
Many people are clamoring for it to crop up at some point.

Youtube video of the Hominids, I see there were some people asking about it.

Not great quality but you take what you can get.

Just saw "The Hominids" for the first time and guessed the ending as soon as Martin began usurping Murray with the "all due respect" argument.
I don't know if it's because I'm so sophisticated or we all are now. Maybe that's why it would never play on today's SNL, and audiences wouldn't have the patience to sit through the seven minutes.
Loved the scene! I ended up laughing the most when Martin is using the drill and Murray is trying to pull him closer and closer yelling "Oh yeah...oh yeah...oh..OH!" much to Martin's utter frustration.

That was my favorite scene in the whole movie. Brilliant.

What's so funny is that it's one of the most memorable and funniest scenes in the movie, yet it is a completely pointless scene. Sure it leads into Seymour trying to kill him, but the Bill Murray section serves no purpose.
