I agree really good effects. Do you know if they ever made any "behind the scenes" or "the making of" features? I'd really be interested in seeing how they made the plants and how they operated them.

There´s some stuff on the BluRay-release (I think it was on the DVD as well). In the "behind-the-scenes"-featurette you get some details about the construction of the plant and even some footage from the biggest version being operated by dozens of technicians before the material was sped up. There´s also tons of information on blogs and (fan) magazines online, e.g. monsterlegacy
