Buddy rejoins the team out of nowhere...

I don't understand why this is an issue. At the first practice, we see Buddy and Whit walk out. Shortly afterwards, Whit comes back (with his father), apologizes, and the coach lets him rejoin the team. When we see Buddy back with the team later, it's reasonable to assume that Buddy did the same thing.

Thanks. I've always wondered how Buddy magically reappears with the team after mouthing off to the coach earlier. I figured there was a scene missing.

I'm guessing there was a scene that was cut for time.

That's it. The deleted scene shows Buddy explaining to Coach Dale that after playing FOR Hickory for so long, he couldn't bring himself to go to another school and play AGAINST Hickory.
