I feel that this is a very underrated comedy and deserves a remake. My idea:

shareOh boy, a part of me would love to see it remade because I enjoyed the original so much, but I'd be afraid of how badly Hollywood would ruin it. They'll include every stupid slapstick and comedy cliche to ruin and cheapen it. They'd also include overtly sexual innuendos because God forbid a comedy go without them these days.
I love your suggestion of John Goodman as Aunt Kate. He'd be perfect!
And potty humour and unfunny actors. Let's just enjoy this classic as is.
