Wow, One of the Best Screenplays Ever Written!

Just watched it tonight for the first time after 10 years. The quality of writing is so phenomenal, and the characters all so human. It's definitely one of Woody's top three, along with Manhattan and Crimes and Misdemeanors, which I need to rewatch.

I like Annie Hall and Match Point, but neither are at this level.

Calvin,

I agree with you! This, along with "Sleeper", may be my favorite Woody Allen film... not easy when he has so many masterpieces.

What I love about "Hannah" is that even the "minor roles" were wonderful. The acting was across-the-board superb.

And they way Allen uses both classical and jazz music to compliment the story is fantastic!

I'd have to agree, I watch this movie all the time now, it just makes me feel good... I think you have to love Woody in "Glass is half-full" mode.

It's my fourth favorite film of all-time and one of the most beautifully written screenplays ever produced. It even plays like a great book with each series of scenes given a different chapter title. A brilliant piece of work by someone who has not been brilliant in nearly two decades.

I bought the VHS at the public library for $1 and watch it frequently. It makes me feel good, too.

I love, love, love this film as well. Woody said in an interview that when he was writing the story, he was writing it in the form of a novel, and the results on the screen mirror that. Excellent writing and structure.

Agreed! Was re-watching this last nite, still manages to blow me away every time I watch it. It just made Midnite In Paris seem even more bland.
