Not-so-happy-ending? (possible spoiler)
At the end of the film, even though Elliot's voiceover claims that the love he has for Hannah is steady and solid, his body language is saying something quite different--he is standing beside her but staring sadly away from her. My main reaction to this scene is that he would have been happier breaking up with Hannah and marrying Lee after all. At the time, this scene might have seemed strangely cold, seeing as Elliot was supposed to have learned that he had really loved Hannah all along. In retrospect it is rather uncomfortable to watch, seeing as many of Allen's films are semi-autobiographical--he seems to be pretty much telling the world that he is over Farrow. Actually, I've often wondered what she thought about playing a rather passive-aggressive goody-two shoes who was so obviously based on herself.
