Those soulless boxes are the scourge of Baltimore and DC now as well. I look at their balconies and think... that's purgatory if not hell. Glad I at least knew the wonderful neighborhoods before they disappeared completely.

I remember the "ugly" exteriors being in Lee's and the artist's neighborhood. We know that the artist was the kind of person who would turn away a client he didn't like at the cost of a big pay-day.
