That's great, nutsberryfarm. Use to have two independently owned nearby and went to both at least once a month and bought all my books there. Ironically, Amazon is opening a brick and mortar store near where I work. Everything old is new again, hopefully. 

The nearest bookstore is an hour away from here.

I miss those stores, too. Browsing through the racks and talking to other customers was a lot of fun.The last Barnes and Noble in this area recently closed so browsing has become a thing of past unless you count browsing the websites, which just ain't the same.

You don't even have a used bookstore where you are at?

reply

I mean, there are both still around. Especially in a big cities like New York where Hannah and Her Sisters take place.

I miss privately owned book stores and record stores. We have a Barnes and Noble in our town, but it's very corporate, devoted to best-sellers and coffee table books, and about three-fourths of it is occupied by comic books, novelty gifts, and electronic stuff.
