The truth is, it's overall considered a bad movie--although I like it--and the studio as of now doesn't want to put in the money for it. I'm hoping some day too...maybe the 30th anniversary?

It'd be cool to have a 30th anniversary special edition of this gem on Blu-Ray, but knowing Paramount; it'd be a barebones release with a passable 1080P AVC codec transfer. Took them forever to get off their lazy asses for Friday the 13th ( Thanks to a distribution deal with Warner Bros.) Wouldn't mind having a commentary with the original EPK, trailers & T.V. Spots and a new documentary. I loved this film since I first watched it in theaters during Christmas break of 1986 and I absolutely love the score to the film along with having a crush on Charlotte Lewis :)

I don't know about blu-ray release in 2016, but it's available digitally now. You can rent or own on VUDU or Amazon, and it's currently been on a long run on Netflix as of 11/08/2015. Quality is awesome.
