Why didn't he kill the little girl?

Obviously that would seem even to horrific even for these movies, but I wonder what excuse the writers had for it.

Maybe since she wasn't a teenager so he didn't blame her for his mom's death?

Just curious.

I heard from directors and die hard fans somewhere that jason was never suppose to harm small children as they had not done anything,
apart from those earlier in part 1 2 3 that killed him...
not sure myself!!

Jason sure as hell tried to get poor little Tommy in part 4.

Tommy hadn't yet done anything to Jason and haven't even met him yet when Jason smashed thru the window and tried to snatch Tommy out. Trish had to violently beat Jason in the head with the hammer to save her little brother from him.

I'm assuming Jason chose not to kill children SINCE Part 4, because Tommy (with a shaved head) reminded Jason of himself as a child. I'm not sure if that's entirely the case but it's just a theory, so don't take my word for it.

Kane Hodder said it best. That Jason was just a big old pussy anyway.

They don't really kill children a lot in horror movies (especially in the newer ones since everything has to be politically correct now) so when they do it is always very surprising.

Jason was walking through the cabin. Then he heard the little girl make a frightened noise. He walks over to her bed, stands there for a few seconds over her. Then you here the cops approaching the campgrounds. That's when Jason leaves the cabin. I think if the cops had not shown up, Jason would of done something to the little girl.

That was the writers clever way of avoiding Jason from harming a child.

Sleepaway Camp (1983) was definitely the exception, when we found all the little kids in the sleeping bags butchered to death.

Yeah they're aren't many. Only ones I can think of is The Blob remake and also Pet Sementary, but I think Pet Sementary is a bit different since the kid did some killing of his own kind of like Children of the Corn.

I think it's the "Frankenstein syndrome" where the creature in question -- in this case, Jason -- is indeed a monster, but the filmmakers want us to sympathize with it to some degree; hence, Jason doesn't harm children. Tommy (Corey Feldman) in Part IV doesn't count because he wasn't a child, but rather a tweenager punk.

And yet, Frankenstein's monster killed a child in the novel and some of the movies.

I didn't mean "Frankenstein syndrome" in the absolute sense and I never read the book; I was referring to the popular classic movie -- essentially the blueprint for all future Frankenstein films.

I'm guessing the little girl along with the other kids were mostly a suspense thing. I know during most of the film I was worried that one of the kids would get butchered.
