I saw the beginning of this movie while visiting some friends with HBO (or some other movie channel) about a few monthes back, but never got to see the rest of it. Can anyone tell me why those masked guys kidnapped the class in the first place?

shareThe movie was loosely based on a real life kidnapping of school children. The real life kidnappers wanted a huge ransom from the government or else the children and the teacher would be killed.

shareYeah. It is pretty crazy. A friend and I were in a video store and started talking about the movie. We had both seen it seperatly years earlier and couldn't remember the name of it or even who was in it. So we described it to the clerk (it was a local video store, not a chain) and the guy knew what we were talking about right away. After some thought, he remembered that Rachel Ward was in it and looked it up for us. Unfortunately, it didn't have a copy, but my friend was able to get a copy online so we could watch it again.
