Oh I hope they never remake this film, it would take so much of the magic from it. Like many others I saw this on HBO many years ago and it has stuck with me since. Finally went online and bought the tape just to share it with my kids and grandkids. It's such a great movie of how strong children really can be in a crisis situation.

I live outside a small rural town of about 300 people, and my dad rented this movie for me at the local mom and pop grocery store when I had the chicken pox or something like that. I was a little kid and it was one of the best movies I had seen; very scary and it had a very real "feel" to it. I forgot the name, or never knew it to begin with, and 20 years have almost passed since I had seen it but it always stuck with me. One day at work last year we were talking movies and I mentioned what details I could remember of this movie I had seen eons ago and my boss actually remembered it! She knew it starred Rachel Ward: well thanks to IMDB I now have it cornered. Hopefully I can get it on DVD.

A new remake will eliminate the fox killed when the movie starts, plus the fish tank, and also the scenes when the kids are swimming.
But who knows?
