The father was unbelievably tough...

That guy didn't scream once during the basement scene when being bit up by the Krites nor did he even pass out once stung. On the other hand both women were knocked out immediately by the barbs and the mother took a long time to wake up after it was pulled unlike April who awoke almost immediately.

That's the 80s for you. :)

I'll give you the tough part on when he was being eaten alive, but as for the barbs, he was hit in the leg while the girls were hit in the neck, which allowed the venom to take more affect.

I've got to make it a point to rewatch this ASAP, but from what i remember the dad was hit in the back with the barb.

He was screaming when he was attacked again on the porch when they were locked out of the house. But it was the same shoulder wound being attacked again. Nobody is that tough to not scream at pain like that.

I always felt awful for Billy Green Bush in that scene. I mean, getting mauled in that EXACT same spot? I mean, that just sucks!

Agreed. I imagine the shoulder bone was starting to show through under that bandaging after being chewed up twice by the Krites on the same spot.

I clicked on this thread thinking you meant that the father character was too strict, which I thought was very comical in the film. "Go to your room... and no supper for you!" made him sound like he gets his parenting values from 1938... I guess that's what happens when you live on a farm...

reply

Lol. I was thinking the same thing when I read the subject line. The guy was one tough SOB though 

Very good. But brick not hit back!

reply

The landlord father character in Critters 3 was the one that was too strict.

Landlord father was creepy/strict, like the gym teacher in Nightmare on Elm Street 2.

reply

Also when the father sends his son out on th bicycle to get help. Now that requires courage.

Biggest regret- Arnie took away the chance to kill the predator.
