I'm not saying I'm against Cobra blowing him away, but sometimes I wonder what would've happened if they got him alive. Maybe they would've found out more about all those psychos and the Night Slasher. It might've saved a lot of trouble. Cobra hit him with the knife and did give him an opportunity to drop his weapon, but clearly, the psycho wanted to die.

One thing to remember is that he clearly was just going to stop into the store to grab a 40 and some smokes, but all of these people kept bumping into him. And then there was that produce clerk who kept calling him "pal."
I don't know about you guys, but when that happens to me, I don't really feel like I have any choice except to break out a sawed off 12 gauge, shoot some cataloupes, and take hostages.
But that wouldn't have made for a very entertaining movie.
