what was the the point of taking the dog with them and then losing it?

its funny cause by brining that dog with them is what got them caught , cause the girl who found the dog, looked at the tag on the dogs lease. and gave a look like she was going to the police, the police traced back where the dog was from, contacted joe the owner of the dog , and joe probley told them it was these 2 guys who i went to school with . and gave up their names.. so by bringing the dog with them, it kinda sealed thier fate.. not that they wouldnt have ever got caught. but it was quicker with the dog tag..

I just watched this, they get caught because Roy gets boxed in and tries to force his way out. Is there an alternate ending?

I always thought they were going to show Roy kill it, so that it would show signs of him being a serial killer.

I'd rather fail at something noble, than succeed at doing nothing.

True, it did signal Roy was leaning toward being a killer, almost like it was one small step toward becoming a murderer, before the beating the gas station attendant, and killing the homosexual they pick up in the bar. Roy had fun driving after Bon Bon. When Bo brought him in the car, Roy looked disappointed because the fun was over. He says something like "throw him out, let's do it again", which is when Bo suggests they take him with them to LA.
