not true widescreen on the dvd!!!!!!!!!!

I had this movie on video for years, and when they are driving down hollywood blvd, you can see the Prince Movie Marquee for Purple Rain real big, you cant miss. its not on the dvd. for it is cut off. so it cant be true widescreen...

Yes it is. Most movies are shot full frame and then cropped to widescreen. That part of the screen was not supposed to be seen.
