The end--a slight rip off of 'the mechanic'.

The ending, where glover "drives off' with the car--thinking he has "won' is a bit of rip-off of, or homage to-- the Bronsan film "the mechanic". Instead of merely having the car blow as soon as Glover gets in--he lets him drive it--and enjoy it..for a few seconds..then, the doors lock, and that tape comes on, and then....BOOM!!

I reckon it was a sort of "update" to the scene in Mechanic, maybe.

it was pretty much a rip-off. it's ok to call it what it is. didn't ruin the movie.

now that you mention it, I should see The Mechanic again.

Wow. Both were Jaguars? I have to watch The Mechanic again. Seen it several times. One of Bronson's best.
