Fish out of water, culture clash, real Aussie man shows Yanks how its done, and gets the girl! Paul Hogan wasn't sending up Australia, he was sending up America and showing them that they had become pretentous and out of touch with real manhood and real values.

Love this movie, and I actually enjoy the stuff in Australia much more than NYC. She was way more fish out of water than he was.
