Titled "It Happened What Night?
I noticed this episode wasn't closed captioned. Can anyone verify this on their disc? I'm wondering if this somehow slipped by during the production process. All the other episodes on the Disc appear to be closed captioned.

shareJust as a caption in a book is the text under a picture, captions on video are text located somewhere on the picture. Since there is no way for a television to put text outside the area of the picture tube, captions do end up covering a portion of the picture (there are non-broadcast applications where this can be done).
CLOSED captions are captions that are hidden in the video signal, invisible without a special decoder.
Do you mean when subtitles are employed? And what does this episode have if not Closed Captions?
shareThis episode has no closed captioning. It's just like watching the television show and that's it. There is no text on the screen matching the dialogue spoken. All the other episodes on the DVD have closed captioning except for this one episode which I think was overlooked. Unless more people out there can confirm or deny that their episode is also missing closed captioning for this episode as well. This DVD used TV Closed-captioning, not DVD closed-captioning aka subtitling. So this means, if you got a real old television, you will not be able to see any subtitles. Subtitles can be done in two ways that I can think of at the moment. The subtitling can be embedded in the actual video meaning it's like part of the movie itself and cannot be removed. The other form is when it is activated on your DVD player where you can choose what language you want the subtitles in. If you bought the Seinfeld DVD Season 1 and 2. They have several audio channels for listening to the dialogue in another language. They also have several closed closed / subtitling for different languages. For example you can be living in the USA, where the native language is English. But you can watch the movie in Spanish, and have subtitles in French. So, if you're a multilingual person or just want to learn a new language and love Seinfeld, go pick up a copy. I haven't seen any other DVDs out there that have so many audio tracks and subtitles for so many languages. A great tool if you ask me. Since most of the language spoken in Seinfeld is rather layman like so it's more practical.
