Get the complete series on DVD for less than $18

I barely remember this show from when I was a kid (I was born in '81) but I've been thinking about checking it out on DVD but I didn't want to risk wasting a lot of money if I didn't like it.

Today I read that deepdiscountdvd.com is doing a "buy one get one free" DVD sale on Anchor Bay box sets. There was a lot of good stuff I already owned (like the "Book of the Dead" editions of the first two "Evil Dead" films and the 4-disc "Dawn of the Dead") but I saw the "Sledge Hammer!" seasons for a price I couldn't pass up.

They're each $17.99 and both are included in the sale, plus the shipping is free. You can see all the titles included by clicking on the little GIF ad on their front page.

$17.99 shipped.

That's less than $9 per season.

That's less than 44 cents per episode.

That's less than $2.25 per disc.

I've heard they might reissue both seasons with some special new extras.

Sounds like Ancor Bay alright. Milk a franchise for all you can on DVD....how many "different" versions of The Evil Dead have there been now?

But saying that, it would have been nice to have commentary on ALL episodes (The Simpsons do it)...get David and Harrison to do some too. Maybe even some of the writers that went on to The Simpsons....I'm looking at you Al and Mike.

I think the "special features" on the current DVD collection were a little "weak" to be honest.
