Hammer Hits the Rock

The convict who attacks Hammer with a butter knife looks and sounds remarkably like Patrick McGoohan ('The Prisoner')
Incidentally, did 'Sledge, Rattle 'n Roll' use the word w.a.n.k.e.r for the 1st time on a US show? It's rude, you know.

reply

Regarding that word--I think they did, but they may not have been the first. The show "Happy Days," believe it or not, used that word for a character's last name once. I don't think they realized what it meant. It's not a popular term in the U.S. like it is in the U.K., so a lot of people wouldn't notice that. I think in Sledge they probably did know what it means, but included it as just a joke.

Thanks - Bixby gets several affectionate mentions in the commentaries.

Not to mention "Tim" on MY FAVORITE MARTIAN.
I was so sorry when he passed. :(

Are you sure you are not thinking of Mork and Mindy? I remember it had a character in it called "Arnold Wanker" I haven't seen "Hammer Hits the Rock" yet, but its not the first time Spencer put in a British insult. He used "trollop" in the stalker episode(forget the name of it now).

"VIVA TRANSSEXUAL, ANIMAL, DIGI-ANIMATION!"
