20 years later.. It's still the funniest I have ever seen

In high school I never liked Miami Vice or Dallas more than Sledge Hammer. There are some movies/shows that were so great then but lousy today like Salem's Lot, Dragnet or Facts of Life even Cosby Show to an extent.

Sledge Hammer, to me, is the equivalent of the Twighlight Zone series of shows. It's still as fascinating today as it always was. Even more so now I think that I have been exposed more to life's funny twists.

Way ahead of it's time SH is! No special effects and not high budget but still works for me. One cannot be stupid and enjoy SH as it takes a certain amount of intelligence and imagination to get the jokes and comic timing. I laugh harder now at some scenes i missed back then

It pushed the limits without being offensive. The overacting was what made it work. If you like Dennis the Menace you will love SH. I was convinced for a time that Dennis Mitchell grew up to be Sledge who had to change his name because he got into a bit of trouble and Mr. Wilson put a bounty on his head. Think about it: Both blond and blue eyed; Clueless misfits with good intentions. Dori could be genius Margaret who grew up gorgeous whose red hair faded to blonde!

I never liked watching Dallas or Miami Vice either back in the 80's when these shows were on.
