One of the best shows of the eighties, how come no reruns on a classic TV network, How about bringing it back, the world needs Sledge Hammer, a classic show. Of course we need Dori too, ooh la la la. Give me one of those high kicks any day Dori. Captain Trunk, scream all you want, Sledge will be Sledge. Hey theres a little Sledge in all of us. Bring it back in some form, Movie? Return to Networks? something. I want more Sledge Wayne Ryan....BOOM
I would really love to see a Sledge Hammer movie. Actually a movie franchise ala "The Naked Gun". The characters are extremely well developed from the television show, and it seems to me that putting this together is a no brainer. Everyone that I grew up with (I'm turning 30 this year) remembers this show as being one of the best shows ever...even if they can't remember the name of Sledge's captain (Capt. Trunk), or the episode that Sledge goes undercover in a "high security" prison (Hammer Hits the Rock). Unlike the Cosby show, which is memorable, but mostly because it was always on (or some spinoff of it was on), Sledge is memorable because there has never been another show like it. The weird thing Sledge and Bill kind of dressed alike, Bill with his terrible sweaters, and Sledge with his terrible jackets (jackets similar to the ones I search out in thrift stores, and wear casually).
If a decent movie was made, and got even half of the advertising that was spent on that recent Spy movie with Owen Wilson and Eddie Murphy, I bet everyone (ok..predominately males) over the age of 25 would be clamoring to see it, which would in turn cause the younger generations to see it, and thus would start an entire new spawning of Sledge Appreciators!
i would be definetely in for that one- and no you are not wrong. just look what can be done with a low budget. (e.g. equilibrium) so if they need money...i would even spend half my salary. keep sledge comin back and the world will appreciate it. sven
Well, it is coming on DVD according to Alan Spencer's website. Season 1 will be released on July 27th. Finally. I'm glad I didn't buy the vhs ones on ebay for $800 the last few years.
id love to see a movie coming out but im glad nobody has done it so i can-wishful thinking here-take a stab at it myself. replacing david rasche would be next to impossible though. the whole cast, actually, meyjoy included.(is it even written like that? im glad im not the only one who loves this show. any casting suggestions? id probably go with rasche anyway, with all of them, actually.
