MeTV Vs DVD

While it's nice to see Sledge airing again alongside Get Smart, Star Trek, Columbo and other classic series on MeTV, the versions they're showing are cropped and feature the laugh track. (Since the show before it, Get Smart, features canned laughter there is some serendipity.) I could see why Alan Spencer got the laugh track bounced once his show was renewed and can also see why he had it removed from the DVD version (although Image Entertainment sloppily included one laugh track version on their lesser release).

I just saw my first two episodes on ME TV this past Sunday. I never heard of it before. It showed when I had just moved and didn't have a TV.

I don't like violence, guns and other sinister stuff but got a lot of laughs out of this. It's basically cartoon violence.

From the pilot--

"There's a sniper on the roof!"

Sledge takes a surface to air missile out of his trunk and obliterates the building.

While walking away--

"I think I got him."


