was sweet and entertaining. With all the drama Oprah's been through with her family it's wonderful that she's found a tight, reliable friend in Gayle and she's been there for her through it all. It's a myth that Gayle kisses O's behind and goes along with whatever she says. She's not afraid to speak her mind and tell it like it is when she needs to.

"I wish I had a Gayle of my own. I'm currently living in the middle of nowhere, and only talk to my friends and family through FB. I'm also waiting for back surgery, so I spend my days watching television, reading, writing, worrying ... I could really use a one-on-one friend right now."
I'll be your friend, paul.
"Do you think that there are people who are turned off by Gayle because they don't think she deserves to be where she is? I know she's climbed the ladder because of their friendship, but I think she'd be successful anyway."
She was doing well as a newscaster long after she and Oprah met. Obviously she wouldn't be the editor-at-large for O's magazine or have her radio show on OWN if she weren't her friend, but she's a talented hard working woman and she would still be successful on her own.

I read that when Oprah's money really started rolling in, she gave Gayle a million dollars so that they would both be millionaires. If that's true, that's pretty cool.
