This is lame even for a bad movie

Hey, I don't mind if a movie sucks, as long as it has some redeeming qualities. For example, Kathleen Wilhoite (Zarabeth) seems to have made a bit of a career of starring in these "so bad they're good" movies: Roadhouse, Private School, two terrifically bad movies.

But this one was not one of them. Only three deaths? Lame! At least Wilhoite's death was the best of them. And you've got an R rating, you've Tawny Kitaen, who was HOT AS F@CK back then, and you don't have her prancing around naked, or at least semi-nude, for half the movie? That shower scene was what - 10 seconds? That suuuuucked.

And Rose Marie? WTF?!?!?!?!?!

I ask the producers of this movie, "WTF is wrong with you people? It's the 80s - you need a lot more gore, and a lot more t!tties!"

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

I thought it was actually ok for a bad movie. I caught it on cable, and I thought it was going to be terrible, but it kept my interest. I think the guy who wrote it had an interesting script for b horror picture, but he didn't have any idea what he was doing as far as directing. A more talented, inventive director could have taken his script and turned that $2 million budget into something that looked like it cost four times as much.

There are plenty of worse horror films than Witchboard.

Even Tawny admitted that it wasn't as violent as other horror movies. That's how low the budget was.

It's a sign of how underwhelming the horror is that the movie wasn't released on the Halloween of '86 despite being mostly shot in the summer of '85. I say mostly because Tawny recalled having to drop out of a soap opera in '86 so that she could do more filming.

That shower scene seemed so tacked on. It's almost as if the producers were told that the movie wasn't violent or titillating enough to be released, so they had to go back and film something extra; which is why that shower scene is so brief.
