Kelly Lebrock was 25 years old making out with 15 year old Ilan Mitchell-Smith. And Anthony Michael Hall was only 16. I don't care if this is a movie or not, that is pedophilia now isn't it?
John Hughes wrote and directed this movie and he loved working with young children/teenagers. It makes you wonder.

Stanley Kubrick directed this movie, Sue Lyons, who played Lolita, was not quite 16 when filmed.
The 60's,70's,80's and even 90's made films where adult males and females depicted sexual relations with young adults who were not quite legal to do so. The movies subject was controversial but the business did not exactly shy away from the subject.
Today, although still a (dark) part of human nature, making a major movie about it would be taboo.
Funny...'Sausage Party' and 'Sex Tape' would be movies made today that would not have had a chance to have been made in the 80's by a major studio because it would have been viewed as sexually perverted.
Well apparently my not so well read friend, 16 is not pedophilia at all. In many countries it is the age of consent.
And strictly speaking pedophilia refers to the attraction of prepubescent individuals. Not pubescent or adolescent, which 16 is well and truly.
Even 18 is not adult or post pubescent, since adolescent is still considered going through puberty despite being able to go to war or even vote.
Go figure.
We are not talking about 'other' countries, we are talking about America. And in this country, the average citizen on the street goes to jail for having sexual relations with minors under the age of 18.

Different terms anyway; no matter where one lives, pedophilia is the predilection to be sexual with young children, as marcusaurelius_00 pointed out. Also, in this film, Kelly LeBrock's character is more a mentor, life coach, or genie; other than the shower scene, not much sexual goes on there. Also, LeBrock's character isn't even a real human being, she's a fantasy created out of Weird Science.
I'll say this: forget LeBrock for me here, give me Judie Aronson:-)
I know I'm late to this but you're so wrong about the age of consent in America. In some places it's 16 others 18 or in Hawaii it was 14 until 2001. But it is legal for 12 year old to get married in the US. Republicans recently quashed a bill to stop this from happening. If if there was a reason not to be in that camp that was it. They support child rape.
