Soundtrack CD...anybody know?

I'd love to have the Soundtrack of Trip to Bountiful.
Does anyone know if it is (or was) available?
I found a CD of Hymns (Sweetly and Softly)
by the singer we hear as credits run,
--that's Cynthis Clawson--but no luck with
actual movie Soundtrack.

If anyone knows a website that
offers older soundtracks, can you help?
I tried google with no success.

Thanks.

I just met J.A.C. Redford, who wrote the score, a couple of days ago. If I see him again I'll ask him if the recording exists anywhere.

Yes - you can order it directly from composer/arranger J.A.C. Redford's website. It's pricey for the playing time - $17 for a 22-minute CD - but it was worth it for me, as I needed it for a memorial for a friend who wanted that specific arrangement of "Softly and Tenderly" to be played. In fact, although I saw the movie in its original theatrical release and own a VHS tape of it, I had never realized that the entire score is essentially a set of variations on that hymn's melody. It's amazing how diversely Redford manages to treat the tune, even turning it into a low-down jazz/blues number at one point! I got fast service on this, too; I placed the order online on a Sunday night, and received the package (mailed from California to Florida) in the following Thursday's mail. The site is www.jacredford.com - when you reach the homepage, click on the tab labeled "Store."

Thank you for posting about where to find the music! I just ordered a copy of the CD.
I hadn't really realized that most of the music was a variation of one song either. I guess that proves how good a composer J.A.C Redford is.
Jan Kaczmarek does this very well for several tracks in the soundtrack for the film "Unfaithful".
I'm sorry for your loss. This version of "Softly and Tenderly" is indeed a song that touches one's soul and isn't easily forgotten. Perhaps the best version I have ever heard of this song.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Finally!...after all these years of searching.

You can now get the CD on Amazon or buy individual songs for 99 cents.

I just bought the closing credit Softly and Tenderly...beautiful!
