The most beautiful imagery....that farm.

The farm and house that Ms.Watts owned in this film....even in its "ruin" state....
...easily one of the most gorgeous pieces of land I have EVER seen. Every time I see this film, I cry at the sheer beauty of the land here. You can see why Ms. Watts so wanted to return here.

The scene where the wind blows through the battered lacy curtain....beautiful.

Anyone agree??

Agree, that was beautifully filmed.

I have to add the soundtrack of all the birds and the wind in the branches of the trees nearby, and her talk with the sheriff about the birds she remembered from her youth added an extra dimention to this set of scenes, it's worth the whole rest of the film just to get to this part.

If I'd been her, they'd had to have buried me on that property before I'd have gone back to the city!!

It's really like that in Texas. Near Waxahatchie, if you drive off the highway for a bit - you can find those places. Down south near Lockhart, it's still there. This movie captured what Texas feels like - and what America used to be.
