Wassa-hoozit? (Refers to dialogue at start, so could well be a spoiler)

Hoping somebody can sort this one out....

When Deth meets McNulty for the first time outside the diner where Deth has just singed the old lady trancer, there's a bit of dialogue which I can't for the life of me work out. I hoped that getting the DVD would help, but, just my luck, it doesn't have subtitles. They start yelling at each other and it ends with McNulty putting his hand up to stop Deth -this is what it sounds like (to me):

DETH: "Subtle pad duty's for squids."

McNULTY: "Trancer honeys are a-bouncy and YOU KNOW IT!"

Please put me out of my misery!

LOL that's funny!

I believe McNolte says "Trancer huntings out of bounds and you know it!"

What a subtle pad is I don't know, perhaps he said shuttle pad?

reply

AHHHHHH!

That makes sense!

Thank you thank you thank you.

Listen to the opening by Jack and you'll hear him mention singing Whistler out on one of the "rim planets."

This would imply that space exploration is being used, so using space shuttles is probably where this is pointing.

Thank you! Again, that's a bit of dialogue that's not terribly clear on my copy.

I always thought it was "Sonar pad duty's for squids"

I'm sure there was a 'ut' in there somewhere.

Now I'm going to have to watch it again.

Oh dear, what a pity.

;o)
