Does Anyone Else Have This Problem With The DVD?

During the punk rock bar scene where Jack Deth and Leena are dancing the screen goes black as Deth is turning around to fight the punks. I was wondering if all the DVDs were like that or if it is just mine? Anyone?

What the hell. It's not necessary. There's perfect continuity...

It's because that's where the side change was on the laserdisc. Whoever copied it to DVD never even bothered editing it out. (You'll also notice at the absolute end of the film a title card reading END OF SIDE B.)

Funny, I never had either of those things happen on my copy. Runs perfect. Sure you guys didn't get scammed with a bad bootleg?

reply

It's not a disc error, it's actually part of the DVD information itself. They have encoded the laserdisc straight to DVD. And it's the official, non-bootleg Full Moon DVD we're talking about.

I just watched the Netflix copy, and it has the black screen.

Funny thing of it is, the picture and sound quality are that of a VHS, but it has the black screen telling you to switch to side B of a Laserdisc.

I know this is a kind of old topic but...

The copy I watched last night was disc 1 of the Trancers box set, and it does have that black screen. You'd think they'd edit it out of the BOX SET! :P Seems tacky.
