When aired on TV, some scenes are cut off to save time due to airing time slots and such.

Do you have a way to put that clip on YouTube or make some screenshots?

The OP is saying scenes are in the TV version that are not on the DVD. I noticed this also. I watched this movie a hundred times when I was a kid while it was on "The Movie Channel" and noticed the same thing while watching it once on TV.

Just as when scenes are deleted for time, scenes are added to fill time when shown on tv.

They used to do this with the Police Academy movies when they were aired on TV.

I was too young to have seen the movies in the theater, and I had only seen them on network TV.

So when it came time to buy the VHS, then later DVDs I wondered where the scenes had disappeared to.

I knew I wasn't crazy and there was a scene with the Gardner's couch falling over because Archie chewed the leg! I used to watch this on ABC's "Million Dollar Movie" each July in the early 90's.

I'm watching it now on my local MoviesTvNetwork channel, all those scenes are in there cause this channel doesnt "edit their movies to fit in more commercials"

I've always remembered the scenes....

family is in car, eating hamburgers and Mom is wiping off the lettuce from hamburger and John Candy says sorry, but we havent seen a Mr McSalad for miles.

and I do remember the leg of the sofa breaking after Archie has chewed on it.
