That was a great tip to check out, thanks! Nice to see her online trying to set the record straight. The thing that bugs me so much is, couldn't they get ANY other little kid to do it? Really, they obviously didn't have her on set, but NO ONE had a kid nearby? It wouldn't have been hard to draw up the contract papers for one little dub.
You know, when I first saw the movie on the big screen, I remember that moment so clearly because there was a very obvious, noticeable murmuring among the audience when that voice was heard!
You can even tell that Kerri Green did the little girl's lisp in the dub!

LMAO! I was watching this on calbe a few days ago and I aksed my wife is she was her mother would she let her daughter go down into a dark are of the boat with no other adult with a creepy old man? I mean come on! I guess things then were not as bad (or at least not as publisized) as they are now so maybe nobody thought anything of it when using this scene in the movie.
sharePeople back then in the mid 80s didn't worry so much about pedophiles because there wasn't all these news outlets reporting every single depraved thing that ever happens anywhere on the planet like they do today . The guy was half-retarded so it seemed perfectly OK as a play partner for the little girl . And you have to consider the Chesters knew that guy had the mentality of a little kd and knew she as safe . Just because the movie didn't show parts where they get to know the Yorku doesn't mean therefore that he was some strange old guy that shouldn't be trusted . You must be one of those parents who worries way too much .
shareI remember when I saw this in 85 or 86 I thought the dub was bad. I seen it tonight 25 years later and as soon as that little girl started talking I remembered about the bad dub. I came here to IMDB to see if anyone else noticed and I guess I'm not the only one either.
