Still holds up

I just watched Silver Bullet for the first time in many years, and I think it still delivers the goods. All the scares and laughs are there, and the suspense is palpable. I remember seeing it in the theater back in ‘85, and the audience was really into it. I’d place Silver Bullet easily in my top 10 werewolf movies.

Definitely one of my favorites for sure.

It didn't holdup back when it was released.

Don't say that! It's mean u know. I liked it & I still do especially when the bad reverend goes after the handicap boy on the bridge. Lots of suspense in that scene.

reply

Haha that was the most overthetop scene in the history of horror movies. A one eyed priest trying to drive over a crippled kid in a wheelchair.

reply

Just to pick a nick, Rev. Lowe was not a priest. He was a protestant minister.

OP, if you’re still around I’d love to see your Werewolf movies Top 10 list.

Rake is just mean! I like that scene & always will. I got scared when I saw it as a kid hey!

OK, here you go!

1) The Wolf Man (1941)…In my opinion still the greatest werewolf movie.

2) The Howling…Lots of in-jokes, but still scary.

3) Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man… The werewolf parts of this movie are every bit as good as the original.

4) Curse of the Werewolf…Hammer produced a winner with this one. Oliver Reed makes a mighty scary werewolf.

5) Howl…This is probably my favorite of the newer werewolf movies.

6) The Company of Wolves…This movie is hard to categorize, but I’ve always liked it.

7) Silver Bullet…Fun werewolf movie with lots of suspense.

8) An American Werewolf In London…The opening scenes on the moors are classic. I’m not quite as enamored with the rest of it.

9) Teen Wolf…Not a traditional werewolf movie, but it has a heart.

10) Trick ‘r Treat…The werewolves play a small role in this movie, but they’re great.
