How much (if any) did Don Coscarelli direct?

Question is in the title. IMDB amongst others says he quit before production, other sources (including wikipedia) says he was the one who started shooting without the werewolf costume and was then replaced later by Daniel Attias.

The only mention I could find in an interview as Coscarelli saying that after his experiences on Silver Bullet he wanted more control. Which is pretty inconclusive

I'd like to think he shot the bullet making sequence, which would explain why it looks so much better then the rest of the picture

I worked from pre- to post- production as location assistant. All filming was directed by Dan Attias, including the bullet making scenes. Coscarelli's involvement was in the development stage with Dino D. as tentative Director.

Looks like I owe Dan Attias an apology then. And several websites (including but not limited to Wikipedia) need to change their stories. Sorry Dan Attias

The film works fine on the whole particularly the scenes with Busey.
For me it just it didn't stand out as much as other King adaptations-except for that Bullet making scene. I felt were a lot of interesting things in the novel and early screenplay they ended up not using.

LdJones, do you have any interesting stories about the production? How did it compare with Cat's eye?

Wiki ain't reliable.
