North Carolina often used as a northern state
After all these decades I've seen North Carolina used as a filming location but almost always as a typical, generic northern state presumably in the New England region. You would think North Carolina is located next to Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Even the actors and actresses do not speak with a southern accent in a North Carolina location movie. That fosters the illusion of North Carolina's location as a generic northeast state.
