One of only about 3 movies I liked better than the book. The other 2 being Jaws and Christine (granted I read Christine when I was 13 and thought it was really slow).

Totally agree about Jaws (haven't read the other two). The movie focused the story on the most important character - the fish.

Yeah exactly!! Plus the characters in the book were woefully unlikable. In the movie you couldn't help but love them!
