did anyone pick up on this?

The fact that Natalie's relationship with her father seemed more like they were husband and wife, considering she was packing up his stuff and kissed him goodbye when he left to go out of town, like she had replaced her mother somehow. I found that interesting.

I need to see this movie again last saw it when I was 15 (20 years ago) - but this scene isn't surprising, in broken homes or just dysfunctional ones, the oldest child often becomes like a spouse to the parent - this makes the child more mature younger than usual but also prevents them from fully maturing and they are often an odd mix of extreme maturity/responsibility and extreme childishness their entire life.

It's a pattern you see often in foster children who had abusive or neglectful parents.

What hump?
