Idea for a prequal/reboot and explanation for the source

I have an idea on 2-4-5 Trioxin's original purpose.

Instead of it's depiction in RTOTLD III where it's used as a military weapon, It's original use could have been created as an experimental solution for suspended-animation for interstellar space-travel, or something along those lines. Think about it? The original movie was created and depicted during the space-age. Why not have 2-4-5 Trioxin as the consequence of a space experiment gone wrong? That is, if it hasn't already. Though, we don't know the real cause of what lead to the events, the original movie does offer some possible explanations, and maybe half truth's, as the News reports about space debris could hold some truth's. The various quotes from the News reporter could lend credence to this theory as well:

The latest word also - this is from nation press services in Washington, D.C. - tells us that the emergency Presidential conference which we just mentioned will include high-ranking scientists from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration

Since convening, this conference of the presidential cabinet, the FBI, Joint Chief of Staff, CIA, has not produced any public information. Why are space experts being consulted about an earthbound emergency? So far, all the betting...

Radio reports explain that a wave of mass murder is sweeping across the eastern United States. the recently deceased have become reanimated and are consuming the flesh of the living. Experts, scientists, and the United States military fail to discover the cause, though one scientist suspects radioactive contamination from a "space-probe". It returned from Venus, and was deliberately exploded in the Earth's atmosphere when the radiation was detected.

As you can see, the original source of the event is heavily speculated to be caused by space-bound debris, and seems to allude to a scientific aeronautical "accident", with radiation used as a scapegoat to further conceal/stigmatize leaked rumors and avoid governmental blame. Then subsequently the Military, trying to salvage anything from this mess, tries converting it into a top secret weaponized application, after it's original purpose fails. Thus, 2-4-5 Trioxin is born!

Two words.... AWESOME. SAUCE. I love it! But I think you should take that idea and change it into something original because, based on this alone, I think you have potential to be an excellent writer. One can tell you put a lot of thought into that.

Would tie in great! But would zombies appear at all in this movie?

Yes, of course zombies would appear. If it was made into a prequel explaining the source, as mentioned in my post, then they would appear at least halfway into the movie, if not the first 30min. The outbreaks perspective would not be from civilians, like in the original, but from the perspective of military and scientific personnel conducting the experiment, then trying to contain the outbreak. (similar to Day of the Dead), though with extended locations, not just a fixed location around a military base.

The movie would take place a day or two before the the original, with ground zero being just outside Evans City. We would see cameo appearances from Ben, at least to the point before he leaves Even City, with his reaction and first encounter with zombies inside the bar when the military guys show up, as explained in the original. A cameo from Barbra could happen just before the end, and what is thought to be the hearse driver is actually one of the scientists who conducted the experiment. His remorseful plea (I'm sorry) is him acknowledging the failed attempt at containing the outbreak and partly causing it.

I guess a working Title could be called: Rise of the Living Dead. Dawn's taken, that title would have worked better for a prequel. Too bad...

I like your ideas. I think maybe John could be tarman for fun.
