Too bad Fred Ward passed away as his father but it would be a great thing to see the master of Sinanju, Chiun, once more.

Oh, hell... Just do a re-boot. Men's Adventure fiction has never gotten a proper filming. Even that (more mainstream) Jack Reacher film was sabotaged by the bizarrely cast Tom Cruise... Someone with a bit of a Quentin Tarantino mindset could probably make something of some of this brutal, reactionary ultra-violence.
