Do you think they should make a sequel
Do you think they should make one
shareperfect premise for a tv series
shareYeah it might good for a do-over. They did attempt a tv series once around 88.
They only aired the original 2 hour TV movie. If that did well enough then they were going to take it to series. I honestly only vaguely remember the movie and that Roddy McDowell was in it..but it came on real late after a political convention. I was forced to go to bed because it was school night lol. I wanted to see it all because I was a big fan of the movie.
Considering the thirty years since it's original release, a reboot would be more appropriate, but I doubt that one will be forthcoming. This is still one of my guilty pleasures from the eighties. I remember seeing this with huge enjoyment when I was young. While it doesn't hold up as well all these years later, it still brings a smile to my face.
shareShane Black's been tagged to direct. A script is in the works with one of the writers of the series co-penning. Whether it makes it to the theater...one can only hope.

No. I saw this in the 80's, just watched it again on Netflix, and have to say... I recalled it being better. It doesn't fare well compared to other big action flicks from the time period.
But, with the right casting, who knows?
There was a TV pilot (Remo Williams: The Prophecy) but the series was never picked up.
As of August 2014 Sony have the rights and slotted Shane Black as director for the reboot to be titled "The Destroyer" .... Fingers crossed it makes it from development into production!!
