movie still feels like it was intended to be a "R" movie cut down

to get a "PG" rating. the scenes with the girls/women, sub-plot with the woman obsessed with sleeping with the 10 most intelligent minds, etc. it all seems a bit cut off as if there was a last minute effort to cut this to a pg movie. Or maybe its just wishful thinking.

The initial script may have been R.

The director claimed that the original script (by Neal Israel and Pat Proft) had "a lot of penis and scatological jokes."

To clean up the script, the producer hired PJ Torokvei (who later wrote Rodney Dangerfield's Back to School). He also hired the writing duo behind Splash who went uncredited: Babaloo Mandel and Lowell Ganz.
