IMPORTANT STUFF: Criterion has just announced that they lost the rights to their edition of RAN (which is of course one of the best editions for this film) so if you want RAN and you want this edition, get it as soon as possible until it reaches collector's price.
shareThis is why you gotta get Criterion editions ASAP. If you really love a movie and it's on Criterion, forget the price tag and buy it.
It's a shame if you can't get the Criterion of this film: the Fox/Lorber DVD is too fuzzy. And the Wellspring edition is devoid of the bright color of this incredible film - The armies dressed in red, look more like orangish-pink.

Sometimes, when Amazon.com lists a Criterion DVD as discontinued, it's available on their website. Amazon lists the Criterion Collection editions of Rushmore and Armageddon as "discontinued by the manufacturer", but I can find them on the Criterion website for $32. Get the movies for $25 on Amazon before you have to pay $32 for them on their website!
